Domestic Violence Doesn’t End After One Offense
Domestic violence is a persistent public safety issue in Oklahoma. Too often, repeat offenders continue to cycle through communities with limited transparency, delayed coordination between agencies, and no clear system to identify high-risk individuals.
Survivors are left without adequate protection.
Families are left without answers.
Law enforcement is left responding without critical information.
What Savanna’s Law Would Do
Savanna’s Law is a proposed policy framework developed by Okies First to strengthen public safety and prevent repeat domestic violence by:
Establishing a public registry for repeat domestic violence offenders
Creating a high-risk offender designation for individuals with multiple convictions
Providing automatic alerts to law enforcement when responding to calls involving high-risk offenders
Improving coordination between courts, OSBI, and law enforcement agencies
Protecting survivor safety and sensitive personal information
This proposal is designed to close dangerous gaps while respecting due process and privacy.
